WHAT WE LEARNED FROM #MeetThePresident

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!!!

FIVE THINGS WE LEARNT FROM
#MeetThePresident Carnival in Lagos

1)    SOCIAL MEDIA IS A BLESSING TO YOUTHS: Before the advent of social media, the youths of this country just had ONE medium through which they can be heard by the government… STUDENT UNIONISM. After its collapse; the youths have been relegated to Political Thugs and Ballot box thieves. But with this Carnival with GEJ; we can all see that the Voice of Nigerian Youths have been heard. The Presidency decided to INTERACT with young people. This has never really happened in a peaceful environment before.

2)    SOME NIGERIAN ENTERTAINERS ARE NOT AS INTELLIGENT AS THEY LOOK: One will expect that with this once in a year opportunity, the organizers will present musicians like MI, SOUND SULTAN, NAETO-C, DARE ART ALADE, ASA, TY BELLO or BANKY W who are very intelligent and sing meaningful songs. Unfortunately, what we saw was a collection of musicians who have no content in their lines- Except of course TIMI DAKOLO. How will Seyi Shay who came out looking like a recovering AIDS patient come and be singing MURDA on National TV? Oritse Femi unfortunately didn’t have any meaningful song to sing but DOUBLE WAHALA; SEAN TIZZLE… Was just jumping up and down & ended up spending more time than allocated to him.

3)    JIMI AGBAJE LOST POPULARITY CAMPAIGNING FOR GEJ: As the host of GEJ, its only proper he speaks for his boss at a point; but then it seems that his desperate quest for power is turning him into a tout like OBANIKORO. Instead of him to explain the importance of PDP while systematically talking about his plans for Lagos… He was busy asking silly questions “ Buhari Fine Pass Jonathan”? “Buhari young pass Jonathan”? Sincerely… This is not the JIMI that Lagosians Love and Respect. He is becoming too NOT HIMSELF. Personally I Like him, but he shouldn’t allow his association with PDP Transform him into what HE’s NOT.

4)    NIGERIAN YOUTHS NEED HELP (MENTAL CAPACITY BUILDING): With the type of the questions asked by the Youths at the venue, it’s obvious that only a few are really sharp and well educated. Others are just follow-come. The pathetic state of the youths present reveal itself when GEJ said :”Nigeria & India were the only two countries among the five countries present in Australia who had Cases of Polio”. To my amazement & embarrassment… They were all clapping!!! GEJ had to tell them NOT to clap.

5)    OPPOSITION IS GOOD FOR THE MASSES: if someone had told GEJ that this Election was gonna be so though he wouldn’t have believed. But with the pressure from the Opposition, PDP has had to create new ways to reach the masses. Right now, average citizens can get to meet the Presidency in a party like occasion.
