#EVENTreport RAOPIC SUPER CUP 2017

The Inaugural edition of the RAOPIC YOUTH SUPER CUP TOURNAMENT which began in September 2017, came to an end in a thrilling encounter involving two of the tournaments best sides SURPRISE FC & RISING STARS FC.

The match began with Rising Stars FC having most of the possession while SURPRISE FC was still trying to find their footing.

As the pressure kept mounting on the men on Yellow (Surprise FC), it was only a matter of 10 mins, before their player headed the ball into their own post after a wonderful freekick  from Rising Stars FC. 

To make matters worse, the men in Blues & White Faded shirts added another goal through a Free kick 5 mins afterwards. Less than 20 mins into the match it seemed like the game was done and dusted.  Well, just before the blow of the final whistle, Surprise FC pulled one back, making it 2:1 at half time.

The second half started with Surprise FC seeming more confident while Rising Stars looked tired and weary. Thanks to a brilliant solo effort from one of the Rising Stars players, the 3 goal came and it was 3:1. Surprise Fc however never backed down. They kept fighting, kept pushing and in a matter of minutes, it became 3:2. The game became more intense as both teams were giving their best at each point. Before the final whistle would be blown, another goal came and it was 3:3 a piece.

The Officials pointed to the penalty spot and that was how the match winner was decided. A weak shot from one of the Rising Stars players was saved by Surprise Fc keeper and that made Surprise Fc win the pk 5:4.

The Winning team jumped, danced and celebrated in excitement as members of the RAOPIC EXCOS was on ground to present various medals and the cup to the players & Team.

Indeed, it was a breathtaking conclusion to an amazing football tournament.
