THE GIFT OF REJECTION

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARE TOLD NO?

Recently after seeing the names of certain players that were dropped by their teams on route to the World Cup in Russia, I can only but imagine what goes through their minds. The same questions some of us ask ourselves when things don’t go as planned.
This is the same question a Lover Ponders on after experiencing a Break Up!
This is the same question the Job Seeker who was turned down in his 9th Interview within 3 months would ask!
This is the same question the young man whose proposal is turned down time after time!
The same question the aspiring model, actor, musician or sculptor asks when he isn’t selected after a tedious audition process!
Life isn’t fair, and sometimes it might seem that you are just singled out to be punished by Mother Nature…

So, before you make the next move after a NO/REJECTION in your life, please consider these points!

1.       LIFE IS IN TIMES & SEASONS (YOUR SEASON WILL COME) Since the time of Del Piero, there hasn’t been any ITALIAN Striker to effectively score goals, till MARIO BALOTELLI came on board. When He did, it was expected that He would remain there for a long time, but then for some reasons, he was excluded from the Italian National team for 4 years. In the life of a footballer, 4 years is like 10years. However, after the inability of the Italian National team to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, Super Mario was recalled backed into the team & presently, he is a key figure in their rebuilding process.  YES, someone may say NO to you at a time; just keep being the better version of yourself… YOUR SEASON is coming!

2.       NOT ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD: There are certain doors of opportunities that appear before us, and because of our desires & wants at that moment, we dive into it, not necessarily looking at the BIG picture. There are players who went to just ONE world cup, sustained and injury & couldn’t return to their previous form ever! There are certain people who got employed in a Job & instantly, lost their Joy, lost their family & sadly lost their connection with divinity. While it hurts when a door is TURNED AGAINST you, it is important to TRUST that everything will work out in your favour. Sometimes, the things we push too hard for end up being the things that END US.

3.       MAYBE IT’s TIME TO TRY SOMETHING ELSE: If you are frequent with the Grass to Grace stories of some celebrities, you will realize that REJECTION/NO helped them to re-invent & rediscover themselves. Until we are stretched at times, we really don’t dig deep to FIND our real identity. There are comedians that have never qualified for a staged audition, but if its to act in a movie, their actions can make you roll on the floor with laughter. There are actors who never “blew”; but the moment they tried a singing; it just clicked for them. A NO sometimes is a subtle admonition to … Hey! Go try something else.

4.       NO ONE IS AN ENEMY: In order to move forward & still win, its important you understand that NO ONE IS AN ENEMY! Hating, disrespecting, insulting the person who tells you NO doesn’t HELP YOU move forward effectively. The mindset of ENEMY leaves resentment in a person’s heart & this is never good for personal growth.  At that point in time, you may NOT be what is needed, but in time, you can still become relevant. Don’t allow a person’s Ignorance about your worth make you stop low to become like them. If you need to keep your distance, please do; if you need closure, please ask questions (politely); if you need compensation; ask (if given be happy, if not MOVE ON); bottom line, don’t give anybody the privilege of thinking they STOPPE YOU from being unique, by tagging them ENEMIES.

5.       WE ARE ALL IMPERFECTLY PERFECT: Till we die, we are all going to be WORK IN PROGRESS! That being said, we may NOT be able to FIT IN everywhere or in everybody’s life at the same time. Leroy Sane, the German winger who plays for Premier League Winning team Manchester City & the winner of PYA was dropped from the German 2018 World Cup team. Does this make him less of an Excellent player that He is? No! Absolutely not! At Manchester City, He is Coach Pep Guadiola’s  trusted weapon of destruction; but to Germany’s Coach Low, he is a Work In Progress! So, just because, one person can’t sacrifice to make you better, doesn’t make you useless! Rather than sulk, beef or feel depressed; appreciate your strengths and trust that the one who deserves what you have will come your way.

Conclusively, it is always said that LIFE IS LESS OF WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU AND MORE OF HOW YOU RESPOND!

I really hope I’ve been able to rekindle someone’s FAITH in themselves.

YOU ARE UNIQUELY BEAUTIFUL!

#Gospel “Heaven Helps Those Who Help Themselves”

“Heaven Helps those who helps themselves” is a common saying we are most times quick to say when we want to play smart. On the surface, the saying may seem ok; often times, some people even quote it as a biblical reference. The thing albeit is that… IT IS NOT A SCRIPTURAL STATEMENT.

We are living in a fast paced world, and the world in itself is systematically infiltrating the church. Common sense is gradually taking the place of God’s wisdom in our lives, that’s why we find many children of God living life like Common men and even dying like one. This ought not to be so.

The fallacy of this statement is best described by the story of Father Abraham (Gen 16); who tried to help heaven by sleeping with Sarai’s Maid called Haggai. Sarai who was thinking like a common man even after knowing about the promise of God for her husband, thought it wise to Help God fulfill his word. How foolish her decision turned out to be in the long run. Her “Common Sense” decision begat one of the biggest rivalry in the world today (Israel & Pakistan).  But for the mercies of God and the Righteousness of her husband Abraham, Sarai would have died a barren woman; not because God didn’t love her, but because she tried to help God with her common sense.

Not everyone can come out as lucky as Sarai; King Saul wasn’t able to (1st Samuel 15). In his case, he thought he could help God help his people. He believed so much in his abilities strength and wisdom that he found it almost difficult to completely trust and obey God. He was always second guessing, contemplating and using his own common sense to handle matters rather than trusting in God’s divine ability. His common sense thinking cost him and his generation the throne and kingship of Israel. How pathetic!

Today, many of us sometimes find ourselves in Sarai & Saul’s shoes; where we feel God is too slow or non functional. Sometimes we are pressured by the society to think that we are behind, to think that we are NOT doing something right. But then, we must remember that at some point in life, it is NOT always about us but about GOD. It wasn’t Zachariah’s lack of faith that didn’t make him have a child at his youth… It was God’s Design that he (Zachariah) will be the Father of John the Baptist the fore runner of our Lord Jesus Christ (What a sweet privilege!). It wasn’t any sin that Joseph committed that landed him in the Pit or in Potipher’s prison; rather it was God’s way of building his integrity, strength and Value towards his becoming a Prime Minister in a foreign land (Awesome!).

We need to learn to trust and be patient with God.  He wants the best for you and me. His delighted in our success, therefore he wants us to succeed and be victorious even more than we want it for ourselves.  Christianity is not a thing of common sense… because only those that are led by the spirit of God can truly be called the sons of God. Ask yourself quickly… What Spirit is leading me?

Think about this quickly, if you can help yourself, what do you need heaven for? Or is your problem/ challenge/ situation/ issue too strong for heaven that heaven would need mere mortal to proffer a solution? God is still at the business of doing Good.

PUT YOUR TRUST WHOLLY IN HEAVEN, and watch GOD TAKE YOU TO HEIGHTS BEYOND YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATION.

God Bless You

IMPORTANT LIFE LESSONS from CHE Vs PSG UCL Fixture on Wed March 11, 2015.

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!!!

IMPORTANT LIFE LESSONS from CHE Vs PSG UCL
Fixture on Wed March 11, 2015.

a.
NOTHING LIKE CREATING A TEAM: At the start of every game, it is normal for analsyst and spectators to select STAR players that can make the difference. This is because over time they have proved their worth in dire situations. However, no matter the high number of individual talents you have, its imperative that you build a TEAM. If the absence of ONE INDIVIDUAL in your Church, Office, or Organization spells doom, know that you have a big challenge. With the well fought victory over Chelsea… PSG proved to the world that although ZLATAN may be one of the most gifted players on earth, they are still a TEAM that can bring results… With or without him. Appreciate individuals, but create a system that doesn’t make anyone INDISPENSABLE.

b.
IT’S NEVER OK TO MAKE A FRIEND AN ENEMY… NEVER!!!:  When Andrea Pirlo, one time legend in Ac Milan was let go by Ac Milan, The board and directors were happen that they had offloaded a surplus player. But when this same player got into Juventus; he continuously leads Juventus to disgrace and embarrass Ac Milan. David Luiz who was seen as the Next in Line to John Terry on Chelsea Defense was sold (For on God Knows the Reason) to PSG. At that time, Chelsea were happy that they had done a good deal… Until this match, that unveiled their error. There are certain people in are lives that we shoulnt make our enemies… Consciously or Unconsciously. *Na persin wer know persin fit kill persin*. Be careful who you send out of your life. The fact that you don’t need someone AT THE MOMENT doesn’t mean that the person has automatically become useless to you. Keep your friends close… if you can’t, at least remain social able with them.

c.       FAILURE IS A STEP TO SUCCESS… DON’T BE AFRAID TO CLIMB IT!!!:  This is not the first time these two teams have met. And in most occasions, CHELSEA went home smiling. But today, PSG finally conquered their worst nightmare, after so many failed attempts.  T.Silva the Captain of PSG was actually responsible for the 2nd goal by CHELSEA; his amateur handling of the ball in the penalty area led to a Penalty that was swiftly converted by Eden Hazard; unlike many of us, rather than wallow in his misery, he arose, shook off the dust and tried harder… Good News, he scored the goal that sent PSG to the Quarter Finals. Never be too scared or frustrated of starting again when you fail or make a mistake. We are Humans and it’s only natural; what separates winners from the losers is the ability to try again!

d.      K*LL THE SHEPHERD… THE FLOCKS WILL SCATTER (NOT REALLY): Yea… In a battle, it’s always good to bring down the GENERAL, and then the foot soldiers will scatter… Well, that happens when the foot soldiers didn’t see you do the SHOOTING. When ZLATAN was sent off, to some, it suggested the end for PSG, but like Loyal Soldiers, the team members woke up to their responsibility. The circumstances behind the RED CARD inspired the team to play more. If you have to break down an opposition, ensure you make it seem as GENUINE as possible; if not, you are going to get a counter effect. (The Origin of Boko Haram is a Clear Case Study.)
